Abstract

This research aims to examine the role and power of emotions in the delivery of God's word and its implications for transformative Christian Religious Education. In the context of sermon communication, emotions are not only an aesthetic element, but a spiritual force capable of touching the listener's mind, moving the response of faith, and deepening the spiritual experience of the congregation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and literature study, this study highlights how emotional expressions in the delivery of the word—such as voice intonation, body language, and touching stories—can enhance the capture of the gospel message and strengthen the spiritual engagement of the congregation. In the framework of Christian Religious Education, this shows that the preacher is not only a conveyor of theological information, but also a facilitator of the experience of faith. Authentic emotions, if used appropriately and responsibly, can be an educational tool that bridges the message of the Word with the real life of the church, especially in the formation of character and spirituality. It is therefore important for ministers of the word and Christian educators to integrate the power of emotion in the practice of homiletics in order to produce a spirituality that is alive, relevant, and liberating.
